Huawei Country Director Pays Courtesy Call on President Mahama with Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP)

The President of the Republic, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has received a delegation from Huawei Ghana, led by the company’s Country Director, during a courtesy call at the Jubilee House. The delegation was led by the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Sam Nartey George. The visit highlighted Huawei’s long-term commitment to Ghana’s digital transformation agenda, as the company pledged to deepen its collaboration with government in the areas of connectivity, cloud computing, and the future of digital skills development. Discussions also touched on the expansion of rural telephony networks, digital sovereignty, and the deployment of critical ICT infrastructure to support national development. President Mahama commended Huawei for its continued partnership with Ghana and reaffirmed his administration’s determination to leverage technology to create inclusive opportunities, strengthen national security systems, and drive economic growth. On his part, Hon. Sam Nartey George emphasized the importance of aligning private sector innovation with government’s policy direction under the Ministry of Communications Digital Technology and innovations. He noted that Huawei’s expertise and investments in ICT infrastructure remain a vital part of Ghana’s digital acceleration journey.
